Art Fixative (for chalk pastel projects) Chalk pastel artwork can be dusty and smudge easily. Because spraying each child’s artwork in class creates strong fumes and isn’t cost-effective and also takes up time and space. It’s not something I can do for every student before they head home. I recommend families spray the artwork at home to help preserve it for the long term.

Tip: Always spray in a well-ventilated area or outdoors, and keep the artwork flat while drying to avoid drips or smudges.
